Local leaders propose new policies on building electrification and carbon sequestration

During the recent San Anselmo General Plan Advisory Committee meeting on December 12, 2024, discussions centered on enhancing the town's sustainability efforts, particularly in energy efficiency and carbon sequestration. A key proposal emerged to create a new policy aimed at replacing methane gas appliances with electric alternatives. This initiative would involve a comprehensive public education program to promote the benefits of electrification, reflecting the town's ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
