Eagle Mountain School District considers new mascots and names for middle schools

The Alpine School District Board has proposed three exciting names for the new middle school, aiming to inspire students and reflect the community's values. During the meeting on February 25, 2025, board members discussed the potential names: Coyote Ridge Middle School, Sage Canyon Middle School, and West Desert Middle School.

Coyote Ridge Middle School, featuring the mascot of the Mavericks, emerged as a standout choice. Board members expressed enthusiasm for the name, highlighting its unique appeal and the positive attributes associated with both coyotes and Mavericks. They emphasized that these symbols represent toughness, intelligence, resilience, and a spirit of adventure—qualities they hope will resonate with students.
