In a heartfelt gathering at the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors meeting on December 16, 2024, community leaders and board members came together to honor three remarkable individuals for their significant contributions to education and community service in the region.

The final recognition of the evening was for Tina King, the executive director of the New River Valley Agency on Aging, who has dedicated 42 years to the organization. Tina's innovative programs and services have greatly enhanced the lives of many in the community, particularly through her work in transportation and nutrition services. As she prepares for retirement in January 2025, the board acknowledged her unparalleled contributions and the positive impact she has made on countless individuals.
