Quincy City Council approves licenses for Quincy International Foods and Welcome Market

In a recent meeting of the Quincy Board of License Commissioners, several key licenses were approved that will enhance local dining and retail options for residents.

One of the standout discussions involved Quincy International Foods, which received approval for a common victualler license. Proposed manager Saleem Maharmo outlined plans for the restaurant to operate daily from 11 AM to 9 PM. The board noted that the establishment had garnered support from local council members, highlighting community backing for this new dining option at 527-529 Washington Street.

Another significant approval was granted to MAA Parvati Corporation, doing business as Welcome Market. The board approved a license for an off-premises retail package store for wines and malt beverages at 279 Willard Street. This new convenience store will occupy a substantial 2,385 square feet of retail space within a newly constructed building that also features residential units. Manager Jay Patel, who has extensive experience in the industry, received a positive recommendation from local councilor Devine, further solidifying community support for this venture.

Additionally, Bravo Quincy Inc. was granted a transfer of the wines and malt beverage restaurant license for Bravo Pizzeria, located at 531 Washington Street. Proposed manager Nick Patel assured the board that the restaurant would continue operating under the same standards and staff, maintaining its established presence in the community.

These approvals reflect the board's commitment to fostering local businesses and enhancing the variety of dining and retail experiences available to Quincy residents. As these establishments prepare to open, they are expected to contribute positively to the local economy and community life.
