Needham honors Emmy-winning producer Ben Carlin with upcoming tribute event

Following the fundraising discussion, the committee shifted focus to the "Needham to the World" project, featuring Ben Carlin, a notable Needham graduate and accomplished writer and producer. Carlin, who graduated from Needham High School in 1989, is recognized for his work on popular television shows such as "The Daily Show" and "Modern Family." Committee members shared their excitement about honoring Carlin, who expressed gratitude for the recognition despite being unable to attend the unveiling due to his current residence in London.

The committee discussed the challenges of sourcing images for Carlin's profile, noting that many online sources contained inaccuracies about his background. Efforts are underway to obtain high-resolution images, including a sought-after photo of Carlin holding one of his eleven Emmy awards. The committee is collaborating with the Television Academy to secure this image.

Additionally, committee members highlighted the personal connection between Carlin and committee member Seymour Levy, who knew Carlin from childhood. This connection adds a layer of community significance to the project, illustrating the close-knit nature of Needham.
