Pine View Middle School students are calling for immediate support from the Washington County School District as they face declining enrollment and resource disparities compared to other schools. During a recent school board meeting, freshman JC Chase passionately urged the district to prioritize Pine View, highlighting the need for more students and equitable treatment in school resources.

Chase, who serves as the lead photographer for the school's yearbook and is a member of the freshman volleyball team, expressed frustration over the loss of dedicated yearbook class time due to dwindling student numbers. He emphasized that the current arrangement, where students serve as teacher aides during their teacher's prep period, is unfair and limits their ability to achieve the same results as other schools.

Cody Schmidt, a parent and community member, echoed these concerns, advocating for boundary realignment to address the enrollment decline at Pine View High School. He argued that adjusting boundary lines is essential for the long-term success of the school and its students, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and support. Eighth grader Bailey Shaw also voiced her concerns, sharing her experience of starting at Desert Hills Middle School without knowing anyone. She highlighted the importance of maintaining stability for students and pointed out that many students currently attending other schools are granted waivers, which complicates the enrollment situation at Pine View.
