In a recent pre-bid meeting held by the City of Albany, officials outlined the upcoming improvements planned for Tivoli Park Preserve, a project aimed at enhancing accessibility and recreational opportunities for the community. The meeting, which lasted approximately 15 minutes, provided essential details for contractors interested in submitting bids for the project.
The city is seeking sealed bids for the construction work, which must be submitted by 1 PM on February 21, 2025, at the Board of Contract and Supply located at 24 Eagle Street, Albany. The project is expected to commence shortly after the city’s acceptance of bids in early March, with a completion target set for June 15, 2025. This tight timeline is driven by grant requirements that necessitate adherence to specific deadlines.

The trails will encompass approximately 1,200 linear feet of repairs along the existing network, focusing on stabilizing the current surface rather than complete reconstruction.
Three trailheads will be established at strategic locations: North Manning Boulevard, Wilkins Avenue, and Quail Street. Additionally, an ADA-accessible floating fishing pier will be constructed, enhancing the park's appeal to visitors of all abilities.
As the meeting progressed, it was noted that tree clearing must be completed by March 31, 2025, to comply with environmental regulations. This includes felling trees over three inches in diameter, although stump removal is not required at this stage.
The project promises to revitalize Tivoli Park Preserve, making it more accessible and enjoyable for the Albany community. As the bidding process unfolds, local contractors are encouraged to review the project specifications and prepare their proposals to contribute to this significant enhancement of public space.
