Water Canyon High School students earn multiple accolades in arts and education

The Washington County School District held an open session on March 6, 2025, where several notable achievements among students and staff were highlighted.

The meeting began with a recognition of student accomplishments, specifically focusing on Dusty Rose Beislein from Water Canyon High School. It was noted that she was featured in Western Horseman Magazine for one of her paintings, marking a significant achievement in her artistic career. Additionally, Dusty Rose placed in this year's Senate Visual Arts Scholarship competition, standing out among over 300 entries as one of the 28 scholarship winners.

The district also celebrated its inclusion in the eighth annual AP Advanced Placement District Honor Roll. This recognition is awarded for expanding opportunities and improving performance for advanced placement students, and Washington County School District is the only district in Utah to receive this honor.

Furthermore, Kathy Peterson was acknowledged for her recent recognition as Utah's Early Childhood Leader of the Year. Although she was not present at the meeting, the board called for a round of applause in her honor.

Overall, the meeting showcased the district's commitment to fostering student talent and excellence in education, highlighting both individual and collective achievements within the community.
