Oldham County Planning Commission approves zoning change for family entertainment center

A proposed family entertainment center is on the verge of transforming a 2.23-acre parcel in Oldham County, as the Fiscal Court held a public hearing on March 4, 2025, to discuss a zoning map amendment. The applicant, Jamf Enterprises LLC, is seeking to change the zoning from Heavy Industrial (I-2) to General Business District (C-3) to facilitate the construction of a 19,267 square foot facility next to Clayton and Lambert, directly across from the local high school.

The journey to this point has been extensive, with discussions beginning in April 2023. The developer, represented by attorney Mike Swansberg, emphasized the thorough planning process, which included multiple revisions based on feedback from the community and technical review committees. Swansberg noted that the project has evolved significantly since its inception, incorporating public input and addressing concerns, particularly regarding traffic and infrastructure.

During the meeting, Swansberg highlighted the Planning Commission's unanimous approval of the project in December 2024, which included five requests from Jamf Enterprises, such as waivers and the zoning change. The Planning Commission's decision reflects a strong community interest in the project, with many residents expressing excitement about the potential entertainment options it will bring.
