Lennar Homes unveils affordable housing project in Modesto's Bridal area

A new housing development is set to transform Modesto, as Lennar Homes California received enthusiastic support from city council members during the March 5 meeting. The proposed project, located in the Bridal area, aims to create a cohesive community with a variety of home sizes, ranging from 1,600 to 2,400 square feet, catering to the needs of local homebuyers.

Steve Garrett, representing Lennar Homes, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the importance of collaboration with city staff and the community. He emphasized the design's focus on creating an inviting street scene, with garages set back to avoid the typical "sea of garage doors." The development will feature small home sites with minimum setbacks of 10 to 15 feet, ensuring a comfortable living environment.

Council members praised the project for its affordability and suitability for Modesto residents. Councilmember Scudia Britten noted the combination of single-family and multifamily dwellings as a perfect fit for the area, while Councilmember Williams highlighted the need for more affordable housing in California. Vice Mayor Bavaro echoed these sentiments, expressing hope for future developments by Lennar in Modesto.
