Palmer High School jazz choir prepares for Chassa Jazz Festival and spring musical

The Colorado Springs School District No. 11 Board of Education meeting on March 5, 2025, showcased the vibrant arts programs at Palmer High School, highlighting the achievements of its honors jazz choir. Director of Choirs, Lehi Zarecki, introduced the talented group, expressing pride in their diverse repertoire, which includes vocal jazz and pop a cappella. The choir is set to perform at the upcoming Chassa Jazz Festival in April, marking their return to the event after a few years.

Zarecki also announced an upcoming musical production of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," co-directed with theater teacher Maren Grimm. Scheduled for April 10-12 at 7 PM, the performance will feature a live pit orchestra, a significant addition that has not been part of Palmer's productions for some time. Zarecki encouraged board members and the community to attend, emphasizing the importance of supporting the arts in schools.

The meeting also included the adoption of the agenda, which was unanimously approved by the board members. Following this, students from Crystal Elementary School led the Pledge of Allegiance, reinforcing the community's commitment to fostering student involvement and pride.
