Adams State University boosts Valley student enrollment by 73% under President Tandberg

In a recent City Council meeting, President Tandberg of Adams State University shared significant updates on the institution's engagement with the local community and its enrollment growth. Tandberg introduced Vice President of Advancement, Jacob Brissler, highlighting their commitment to enhancing alumni relations, fundraising, and community involvement.

Tandberg reported a remarkable 73% increase in enrollment from Valley students since 2022, marking a record high for the university. This growth is attributed to strategic initiatives aimed at fostering local partnerships and making college more accessible. One notable program is the direct admissions initiative, which sends acceptance letters to every graduating senior in the Valley, regardless of their college plans. This effort, combined with the Adams Promise program, which offers tuition-free education to families earning $70,000 or less, aims to alleviate financial barriers for local students.

The university is also undertaking several major projects, including the construction of a new facilities building and an expansion of the IT building, funded by the state. These developments are expected to enhance campus resources and support sustainability efforts.
