Middletown Township is set to celebrate Energy Efficiency Day on October 4, as the Board of Supervisors officially proclaimed the date during their recent meeting. This initiative highlights the importance of energy efficiency as a vital strategy for reducing pollution, lowering utility bills, and fostering economic growth within the community.
The proclamation emphasizes that energy efficiency is the fastest and cleanest way to meet the township's energy needs. It aims to promote smarter energy use, which not only helps avoid harmful emissions but also contributes to healthier living and working environments. The Board noted that cutting energy waste could save households up to $500 annually, showcasing the financial benefits alongside environmental ones.
In addition to the proclamation, the meeting also announced several upcoming community events, including Jay's Community Night on September 20, Parkland Fest on September 30, and the Fire Prevention Expo on October 7. A new event, Grooving at the Gates, is scheduled for October 14, promising to engage residents further.
The Board encourages all community members to participate in Energy Efficiency Day and to adopt practices that support sustainability efforts. This commitment reflects Middletown Township's dedication to creating a cleaner, more efficient future for its residents.
