The Summit County Board of Health is gearing up for an impactful Climate Change and Public Health Speaker Series, set to take place next Tuesday at the National Ability Center. The event, running from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, will feature a tabling session focused on mental and behavioral health resources, followed by presentations from experts discussing the intersection of climate change with physical and mental health. Attendees can register via the Summit County Health website.
In addition to the speaker series, the board will present to the Park City Council this Thursday, sharing insights from recent discussions. Board members were also informed about upcoming vacancies on the board, inviting interested individuals to apply starting in January.
The meeting highlighted the dedication of staff members, with commendations for their efforts in community health initiatives, including vaccination programs for seniors. The camaraderie among staff was noted as a positive development, reminiscent of the collaborative spirit during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The next board meeting is scheduled for October 2, with plans to accommodate remote participation for members unable to attend in person.
