West Seneca School District committee seeks community feedback on redistricting plans

The West Seneca Central School District is actively seeking community input on its redistricting plans, as highlighted during the Board of Education meeting on March 3, 2025. The district has opened a feedback portal, including a QR code and a Google form, to gather insights from stakeholders who could not attend last week's community forum. This feedback will help the committee narrow down to two or three semifinalist plans for consideration.

In addition to redistricting, the strategic planning committee is shifting focus from academic data analysis to enhancing social-emotional well-being and family engagement. Plans are underway to explore the establishment of a family support center and a Boys and Girls Club in the community, with a visit to an existing club in East Aurora scheduled for March 6.

Upcoming events include East Middle School's musical production, "Something Rotten Junior," on March 20 and 22, and a series of band and orchestra concerts aimed at fostering student retention in music programs. The board also discussed a capital outlay project for Northwood Elementary School, which will involve upgrades to exterior doors, and a significant $8.5 million auditorium infrastructure project to enhance facilities across the district.

The meeting underscored the board's commitment to community engagement and educational improvement, with plans for further discussions and surveys to ensure stakeholder voices are heard in shaping the district's future.
