During the recent Middletown Township Board of Supervisors meeting on June 12, 2023, the board made significant strides in promoting inclusivity and honoring community service.

One of the most notable actions was the proclamation of June as Bridal Month in Middletown Township. This initiative not only celebrates weddings but also aligns with Pride Month, emphasizing the importance of diversity and inclusion for the LGBTQ2S+ community. The board expressed its commitment to fostering acceptance and harmonious relationships among all residents. As part of this proclamation, the pride flag will be flown at the Middletown Township Municipal Center throughout June, symbolizing support for the LGBTQ2S+ community and its rights.

In addition to the proclamation, the meeting recognized the retirement of Louise Morris, a dedicated school crossing guard who has served the community for 36 years. Chief Bartirillo highlighted the essential role of crossing guards and other behind-the-scenes staff in ensuring the safety of children as they travel to and from school. Morris was honored with a plaque for her years of service, reflecting the community's gratitude for her commitment and dedication.
