A vibrant new Italian restaurant is set to open in Crockett, Texas, as Shannon Paris, an Italian citizen, shared her exciting plans during the recent City Council meeting. Paris, who has trained with top chefs in New York, expressed her enthusiasm for bringing authentic Italian cuisine to the community, stating, "I am going to bring Rick off a pizza to Rocket."
Paris's journey to Crockett began with a search for a homestead, leading her to purchase 11 acres outside the city. Her connection to the community deepened after a warm encounter at a local coffee shop, which solidified her decision to settle in Crockett. "If he is a representation of profit, I wanna be there," she recalled, highlighting the welcoming spirit of the town.
The City Council unanimously approved Paris's request for a zoning change to allow her restaurant, which will be located in a building she now owns. The support from the Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce further emphasized the community's backing for this new venture.
In addition to the restaurant discussion, the council also addressed critical infrastructure improvements. They awarded bids for engineering and advisory services related to wastewater treatment and drinking water projects, ensuring the city continues to enhance its essential services.
With Paris's Italian restaurant on the horizon and significant infrastructure projects underway, Crockett is poised for growth and community enrichment in the coming year.
