DeKalb County Commission approves Trails and Greenway master plan

DeKalb County's Board of Commissioners made significant strides in enhancing local infrastructure during their regular meeting on March 11, 2025. A key decision was the adoption of the DeKalb County Trails and Greenway master plan, which aims to improve recreational access across all commission districts. This initiative, which was deferred to a future meeting for further discussion, underscores the county's commitment to expanding green spaces and promoting outdoor activities for residents.

In addition to the trails plan, the board approved an agreement for sewer upgrades in the Snap Finger watershed, with a financial contribution of $216,000 from Gustavia Village LLC. The approval process included clarifications regarding the naming of the contracting company, which will be detailed in future agreements.

The commissioners also authorized a Georgia Power easement for the Department of Watershed Management, facilitating necessary improvements at a designated site. Furthermore, they approved the Watershed Management capital improvement plan for 2025 through 2034, which outlines strategic investments in water infrastructure over the next decade.
