Richland Communities unveils expanded parks plan for Skyline Heights development

Residents of Corona will soon enjoy enhanced recreational opportunities as the Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended a new development project that includes significant park improvements. During the meeting on March 11, 2025, the commission discussed the proposed Skyline Heights project, which aims to integrate public parks and trails into the community.

The project, managed by Richland Communities, will feature a dog park, a pump track, and multiple public parks, significantly increasing the amount of available recreational space. Currently, the approved plan only requires the developer to provide a small park area or pay fees in lieu of parkland. However, the new proposal will deliver nearly three times the required park space, enhancing community access to outdoor activities.

Key to the project is the preservation and enhancement of existing trails, ensuring safe connectivity to the Cleveland National Forest while minimizing impacts on surrounding neighborhoods. The development will incorporate community feedback to legitimize and improve local trails, making them accessible and enjoyable for residents.

The commission's recommendation will now move to the City Council for final approval, marking a significant step forward in expanding recreational facilities in Corona. This initiative not only aims to improve the quality of life for residents but also fosters a stronger connection to the natural environment.
