Florence High School honors employees Nicole O'Rourke and Renee Nordhoff at board meeting

The Florence Unified School District (FUSD) Board Meeting held on March 12, 2025, showcased the achievements of Florence High School and recognized outstanding staff members. The meeting began with Kyle Wright, the recreation coordinator, introducing the evening's feature school, Florence High School, and welcoming Principal Deanna Potter.

Principal Potter took the opportunity to highlight the contributions of the school's staff. She recognized Nicole O'Rourke as the classified employee of the month. Although O'Rourke was unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict with a baseball game, Potter praised her dedication to the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program and her supportive role for students.

Renee Nordhoff was honored as the certified employee of the month. Present at the meeting, Nordhoff was commended for revitalizing the life skills program and creating engaging experiences for students, including a haunted house event that involved over 500 participants. Her efforts to encourage student involvement and her positive influence on the school community were highlighted as exemplary.

The meeting also included a brief mention of the student body president, Jackson Potter, who was unable to attend due to a tennis match. Principal Potter expressed her appreciation for the student leadership and the vibrant school spirit fostered at Florence High School.
