Woodland Community College's Lake County campus is on the rise, with a 6% enrollment increase this semester, signaling a strong recovery from the pandemic's impact. At the recent Clearlake City Council meeting, college leaders expressed gratitude for community support and outlined their strategic goals, including finalizing accreditation reports and enhancing student services.

Chancellor Sean Pan highlighted the district's overall enrollment growth of 12% and emphasized partnerships with local institutions, including a new agreement with Chico State for guaranteed admissions. The college is also focusing on improving student retention and success rates, with a notable 62% increase in transfer rates since 2018.

Dean Corey Evanhack introduced various resources available to students, such as free bus passes, tutoring, and financial aid support. Upcoming events, including an open house on November 21, aim to engage the community and encourage prospective students to explore educational opportunities.

In addition to academic advancements, the college is committed to addressing local workforce needs, with programs like the drinking water and wastewater technology course that leads directly to job placements.
