During the Garden City Commission Meeting on December 3, 2024, the city council took a moment to honor employees who have reached significant milestones in their years of service. This annual recognition highlights the dedication and contributions of city staff to the community.

Mayor and council members acknowledged several employees for their commitment, starting with those celebrating 10 years of service. Among them were Josh Delhand from the Garden City Fire Department and Chris Seaman from the Garden City Police Department, both of whom were commended for their decade of service. Additionally, Gilberto Andrade from the street department was recognized for his contributions as a signals and traffic technician.

The meeting also celebrated employees with 20 years of service, including John Ersick, the fire chief, and Donna Waller, an administrative assistant at Lee Richardson Zoo. Brett Harmon from the electric department and Jared Rudy, who has served both the city and the Recreation Commission, were also honored for their long-standing commitment.

A special mention was made for Bob Zundt, who achieved an impressive 40 years of service. Although he was not present at the meeting, his milestone was celebrated with enthusiasm.
