Santos Streets Eats and Bars seeks liquor license approval in New York City

A new restaurant in Tuscaloosa is seeking approval for an on-premise retail liquor license. Olympus O 1 LLC, doing business as Santos Streets, Eats and Bars, plans to operate at 1014 Seventh Avenue. The establishment aims to serve customers with a diverse menu and a vibrant atmosphere.

During the Tuscaloosa Public Safety Committee meeting on March 11, 2025, the applicant presented their proposed hours of operation: Sunday from 11 AM to 10 PM, Monday from 11 AM to 11 PM, Tuesday from 11 AM to midnight, and Wednesday through Saturday from 11 AM to 1:30 AM. These hours were adjusted following discussions with the police department, which had initially raised concerns about the potential for the venue to function more like a bar due to its late hours.

The police department reported no incidents related to the location from February 12, 2024, to February 12, 2025, but still expressed reservations about the late-night operations. The applicant, Giovanni Resco, who has experience running restaurants in Decatur, Alabama, reassured the committee about their commitment to responsible service and community engagement.

The committee will consider the application further, weighing the potential benefits of a new dining option against the concerns raised by law enforcement. The decision will impact not only the restaurant's future but also the surrounding community's nightlife and safety.
