The Alpharetta Design Review Board made significant strides in enhancing the visibility of local businesses during their meeting on February 21, 2025. The board approved a new signage plan for Henderson Commons, aimed at improving tenant visibility and accessibility for customers.
The proposal included the removal of the existing monument sign and the installation of two new triangular signs at each entrance of the property. These signs will feature four tenant panels on each side, allowing multiple businesses to showcase their names prominently. The design will incorporate a stone base with a cap that matches the building's aesthetics, ensuring a cohesive look throughout the center.

The existing sign was deemed insufficient, prompting the need for a more prominent solution. The new signage will be illuminated with LED strip lighting instead of traditional gooseneck fixtures, which were considered too bulky and distracting. This change is expected to enhance the overall appearance of the sign while focusing attention on the tenants.
The board also addressed landscaping concerns, agreeing that low evergreen plants would be added at the base of the sign to complement the new design without obstructing visibility. The final dimensions and landscaping details will be subject to staff approval before implementation.
The motion to approve the signage plan passed unanimously, reflecting the board's commitment to supporting local businesses and improving the overall aesthetic of the area. As Henderson Commons prepares for these updates, tenants can look forward to increased foot traffic and better visibility, which are crucial for their success in a competitive market.
