The spotlight first shone on Kosey Ikaabu, an eighth grader from Brown Middle School, who was honored as the December Student of the Month. Kosey’s academic achievements, including all-region band honors and a top PSAT score, were celebrated alongside his leadership in science projects. His ambition to attend Princeton University and become a neurosurgeon reflects not only his dedication to academics but also his desire to help others.
Following Kosey’s recognition, Eden Frenpong, a fourth grader from Johnson Elementary, was introduced as her school’s Student of the Month. Eden, who has already made a significant impact as a Panther ambassador, shared her journey from Virginia to Texas, including her unique experience attending summer school in Ghana. Her teachers praised her kindness, helpfulness, and academic excellence, noting her aspiration to become a teacher to help others succeed.
As the meeting progressed, the board members and community members stood together to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas pledge, reinforcing their shared values and commitment to education.
The evening was a testament to the dedication of Forney ISD to recognize and celebrate the achievements of its students, fostering a sense of pride and community among parents, educators, and local leaders. As the meeting concluded, it was clear that the future of Forney ISD is bright, guided by the aspirations and accomplishments of its young leaders.
