Sweden council elects Susan Coleman as new mayor after failed nominations

The Sweet Home City Council convened on January 14, 2025, to conduct nominations and voting for key leadership positions, including the mayor and president pro tem. The meeting began with the nomination process for the office of mayor, where Councilor Dylan Richards was proposed by a fellow councilor. Subsequently, Councilor Chelsea Augsberger was nominated, but the motion failed to pass. Finally, Councilor Josh Thorstad was nominated and successfully elected as president pro tem, receiving a majority of votes.
