Harnett County Commissioners approve funding and plans for Flatwoods Middle School

The Harnett County Board of Commissioners made significant strides in community development during their meeting on March 17, 2025, approving several key action items that will enhance local services and infrastructure.

One of the most impactful decisions was the approval of an installment financing contract for the construction, equipping, and furnishing of Flatwoods Middle School. This initiative aims to improve educational facilities in the area, with two citizens voicing their support during the public hearing. Other notable discussions included the approval of a pepper spray policy for non-law enforcement employees and a work authorization for Harnett Regional Jackpot to conduct necessary pre-NEPA studies.

The meeting concluded with the approval of budget amendments and a resolution requesting the North Carolina Department of Transportation to add several roads to the secondary road system, further enhancing local infrastructure.
