Bullhead City Council approves zoning changes and veteran support initiatives

Bullhead City is gearing up for a significant initiative aimed at supporting local veterans, with plans for a dedicated summer event set for August 2025. During the recent City Council meeting, community leaders expressed their enthusiasm for the project, which aims to streamline access to essential services for veterans. The initiative will involve collaboration among various local organizations to ensure that veterans can easily navigate the resources available to them, particularly for those who may struggle with technology.

Council members highlighted the importance of creating a supportive environment for veterans, with one member thanking Supervisor Lettman for spearheading the effort. In addition to the veterans' initiative, the council approved several key items, including a new liquor license for Mioni's Pizzeria and a zoning change for a residential development on Turquoise Road. The latter will allow for the construction of three multifamily units, aligning with the neighborhood's existing residential character.

Another significant decision involved a land use amendment for a 33.7-acre parcel near the Mohave Crossroads shopping center, transitioning from regional commercial to medium-high density residential. This change is expected to pave the way for a mixed-use development, although concerns were raised by local residents regarding traffic and access to the area.
