Smyrna Fire Chief Brian Marcos unveils department's strategic plan and community risk assessment

The strategic plan outlines 11 major goals aimed at enhancing the department's effectiveness and responsiveness. Chief Marcos expressed optimism about the department's pursuit of accreditation, noting that only 13% of fire departments nationwide achieve this status. He anticipates that within 18 months to two years, the Smyrna Fire Department will be recognized as a gold standard agency by the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

Mayor Max Bacon commended the fire department for its dedication and service to the community, sharing a personal anecdote that underscored the importance of their work.
