Danvers Select Board proclaims May 2025 Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month

The Select Board of Danvers convened on March 18, 2025, to address several key agenda items, with a significant focus on promoting motorcycle safety awareness. The meeting commenced with the board issuing a proclamation designating May 2025 as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in the town.

He reported that over 70 motorcyclists lost their lives in 2024, with more than 330 crashes occurring in Massachusetts, as documented by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). Trask also mentioned that there are 637 registered motorcyclists in Danvers, who would benefit from increased awareness and safety measures.

Representatives from the American Legion Riders were present, expressing their commitment to safety and community engagement. They highlighted their contributions to local events and their dedication to ensuring safe riding conditions for all motorcyclists.

The board unanimously approved the proclamation, reinforcing their commitment to motorcycle safety and community awareness. The meeting concluded with plans to distribute the proclamation to relevant parties, ensuring that the message of safety reaches all residents and visitors in Danvers.
