Aldine ISD Superintendent Goffney unveils Accelerate strategic plan for student success

Aldine ISD has unveiled an ambitious new strategic plan, "Accelerate," aimed at enhancing student success over the next five years. During the February 25, 2025, board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Latonya Goffney introduced the plan, emphasizing its commitment to fostering growth and addressing areas needing improvement within the district.

"Accelerate" builds on the foundation of the previous strategic plan, "A New Way Forward," but with a renewed focus and increased pace. The initiative is designed to amplify effective practices while ensuring that every Aldine ISD student receives a rich educational experience. Dr. Goffney highlighted the importance of inclusivity and transparency in the planning process, which involved engaging diverse perspectives over nearly a year.

Central to the plan is the "portrait of a graduate," a vision that outlines the qualities Aldine students should embody as they progress through their education. This vision is supported by four strategic priorities: putting students first, achieving instructional excellence, fostering thriving teams, and creating aligned systems. Dr. Goffney stressed that the success of "Accelerate" relies on the collective effort of the entire Aldine ISD community, including teachers, parents, and staff.

As the district moves forward with this comprehensive approach, the focus remains on collaboration and shared responsibility to ensure a brighter future for all students in Aldine ISD.
