Aldine ISD Superintendent Goffney unveils Accelerate strategic plan for student success

Aldine ISD has unveiled its ambitious new strategic plan, "Accelerate," aimed at enhancing student success from 2024 to 2029. Superintendent Dr. Latonya Goffney introduced the plan during the February 2025 Board Meeting, emphasizing its role as a commitment to drive progress and improve educational outcomes for all students.

"Accelerate" builds on the foundation of the previous strategic plan, focusing on amplifying effective practices while swiftly addressing areas needing improvement. The initiative is designed to nurture staff development and enrich the educational experience for every Aldine ISD student.

The planning process for "Accelerate" involved nearly a year of collaboration with diverse educational partners to ensure inclusivity and transparency. Central to the plan is the "portrait of a graduate," which outlines the vision for Aldine students to become reflective, purposeful, and impactful leaders.

The strategic plan identifies four key priorities: students first, instructional excellence, thriving teams, and aligned systems. This holistic approach calls for the involvement of the entire Aldine ISD community, highlighting that every member—from teachers to custodians—plays a vital role in achieving the plan's goals.

Dr. Goffney concluded her presentation by reinforcing the message that "we're stronger together," urging the community to unite in accelerating towards a brighter future for all Aldine ISD students.
