Community member proposes enhancement plan for Templeton Cemetery

During the recent Historical Preservation Committee meeting in Woodland Park, a passionate vision for the Templeton Cemetery was shared, highlighting a community-driven initiative to honor those interred there. The proposal, presented by a local resident, aims to enhance the cemetery's appearance and significance through the installation of headstones and a protective perimeter.

The resident outlined plans to create headstones for both known and unknown individuals buried at the site, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their stories. In addition to the headstones, the vision includes the use of quartz rock to outline each grave, which would not only beautify the area but also provide a respectful tribute to the deceased.

A centerpiece of the proposal is the installation of a comprehensive headstone that tells the story of Templeton and its cemetery, mounted on a sturdy base. To further enhance the site, the resident suggested adding a split rail fence around the perimeter, creating a more defined and inviting space for visitors.
