Gulf Coast LGBTQ Center seeks approval for second annual Bridal Fest in Panama City

The City of Panama City held a meeting on March 19, 2025, where various community leaders and organizations presented updates and requests to the commission. The meeting began with a commendation for the League of Women Voters, which was praised for creating an environment conducive to respectful and productive discourse during recent events.

Patrick Chapin, President and CEO of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, addressed the commission, advocating for an extension on the vote regarding the transportation impact fee. He expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the commission and its staff, highlighting the productive discussions that have taken place over the past weeks.

Michelle Smallwood, representing the Gulf Coast LGBTQ Center, sought approval for the second annual Northwest Florida Bridal Fest Art Market and Block Party. She noted the growth of pride events in Panama City since 2019 and emphasized the support from local businesses for this year’s event. Smallwood outlined plans for a diverse lineup of entertainment, including live music and family-friendly activities, and encouraged community participation in the event, which aims to celebrate diversity and inclusivity.

The meeting concluded with anticipation for a positive vote on the proposed events and initiatives, reflecting the commission's commitment to fostering community engagement and support for local organizations.
