City plans April 29 birthday celebration featuring food and entertainment at Dominguez Park

The Redondo Beach Public Amenities Commission meeting on March 19, 2025, highlighted plans for the city's upcoming birthday celebration, set for April 29. The event, which is open to the community, aims to foster local engagement and celebrate the city's history.

Commissioner Youssefzai presented a budget breakdown for the festivities, projecting an attendance of around 200 people. The plan includes hiring a balloon and face paint artist for approximately $600 and a stilt walker for $500. Additionally, the Redondo Beach Police Department will contribute by providing their community wagon and offering free popcorn to attendees.

While light snacks and refreshments will be available, the idea of food trucks, discussed in previous years, did not resurface in this meeting. The library staff expressed enthusiasm about participating, indicating their eagerness to contribute to the event's success.
