Huber Heights announces 2024 summer events including Farmers Market and music series

The Huber Heights Parks and Recreation Board convened on March 20, 2025, to discuss a variety of upcoming community events and programs aimed at enhancing local engagement and recreation.

The meeting began with the announcement of the opening day for the Farmer's Market, scheduled for May 10, just before Mother's Day. The market will run until October 11, with hopes of attracting patrons despite the unpredictable Ohio weather. Additionally, food truck rallies at Cloud Park will take place every other Tuesday from May through September.

A partnership with the Dayton Metro Library Huber Heights branch was highlighted, featuring story time sessions every Wednesday in June at Cloud Park and in July at Shoalmay Park. The board also welcomed back the user group Shakespeare in the Heights, which will host a unique "date night" experience at the Eiffelberger Amphitheatre, offering pre-ordered charcuterie boards for attendees.

The summer music series was a focal point, with the first performance by the cover band The Venues. Other notable acts include a Juneteenth concert, the Star Stable Heights Parade Festival and Fireworks on June 28, and a series of family-friendly events featuring local bands and themed activities. The board emphasized the need for volunteers for the parade festival, encouraging community participation.

The meeting also covered plans for a youth field day, a return of the e-sport program, and movie screenings, including a potential showing of "Sonic the Hedgehog 3." The board discussed various bands scheduled to perform throughout the summer, including local favorites and tribute acts.

As the meeting concluded, the board reiterated the importance of registration for events like the youth field day to ensure adequate planning and volunteer support. The community is encouraged to participate in these upcoming events, which aim to foster a vibrant and engaged Huber Heights.
