The community, which consists of approximately 300 homes, is particularly worried about the current traffic conditions at the intersection of Southwest Eighteenth and State Route 7. They fear that the additional traffic from the new restaurant will worsen an already challenging situation.
A representative for the residents highlighted issues such as inadequate road maintenance, missing traffic markings, and a traffic light that only allows a limited number of vehicles to pass during peak hours. The community has been in contact with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) about these concerns, but the agency has not taken responsibility for the intersection's maintenance. Residents are hopeful that the county will evaluate the intersection's conditions before the restaurant's construction begins.
