Residents demand action on flooding issues in Manatee County canals

One resident emphasized the critical situation, stating, "At the end of the day, the water is all gonna clog up." Another resident, Eric Robertson, shared his frustrations regarding the erosion of local canals, which he claimed have been neglected for years. He called for immediate action to install riprap to prevent further damage, stating, "We need to stop that thing, Merode," referring to the erosion affecting the area.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from county officials to work on cost estimates for necessary improvements, acknowledging that any action taken would be an improvement over past practices.
