St. Lucie County highlights achievements and introduces new aides ahead of holidays

In the final meeting of the year for the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, held on December 10, 2024, officials reflected on the county's achievements and set the stage for future initiatives. Commissioner Lowery emphasized the importance of communicating the county's successes to residents, highlighting the need for transparency and community pride.

Among the notable accomplishments discussed were awards received by the library, transit, parks and recreation, and mosquito control departments from the National Association of Counties. Additionally, the county preserved 15 acres of land for conservation, ensuring it will remain undeveloped. The board also allocated $140,000 to the tree mitigation fund, aimed at purchasing environmentally sensitive lands.
