Cranston's Claims, Safety Services & Licenses Committee has taken a significant step towards revitalizing local entertainment options with the approval of an indoor entertainment license for Cafe Knightsville, LLC, doing business as Balazio. The establishment, located at 10 52 North Main Street, is set to transform the former Knightsville pub into a vibrant Italian café, featuring a unique atmosphere and live music.
Christopher Marcelli, representing Balazio, detailed the extensive renovations undertaken to modernize the venue, which included a complete overhaul of the building. The café aims to offer a cozy setting with bench and table seating, focusing on a more intimate entertainment experience. Marcelli emphasized that the venue will host solo musicians, primarily featuring Italian and Sinatra-style music, aligning with its café theme.
In addition to the entertainment license, Marcelli announced the recent acquisition of adjacent property, which includes a parking lot and a mixed-use building with apartments and a salon. This expansion could pave the way for future developments, including an outdoor patio, although that proposal will be addressed in the spring.
The committee's approval marks a positive development for the community, promising to enhance local culture and provide residents with a new gathering spot. Balazio is expected to open soon, bringing a fresh dining and entertainment option to Cranston.
