Timberlane student activities engage community and raise funds for cancer fight

The Timberlane Regional School District is buzzing with activity as students and staff engage in a variety of enriching events and initiatives. During the recent school board meeting, Abby Robinson, the student representative, highlighted several key happenings that showcase the district's commitment to community involvement and student development.

At Timberlane High School, the National Honor Society celebrated Saint Patrick's Day by hosting a staff breakfast featuring homemade treats, fostering a sense of community among staff and students. Additionally, an informational night for junior parents was held to guide them through the college application process, helping families prepare for life after high school. The student council is also organizing a "Kids Night Out" event, promising fun and games for families, further strengthening community ties.

The junior class recently hosted a semi-formal dance, creating memorable experiences for students. They are also gearing up for their third annual spring craft fair on April 5, which will feature over 35 vendors, inviting the community to participate in this local event.

In sports, the cheer team has qualified for the New England championship, while sophomore Danielle Bates achieved remarkable success in track and field, breaking school records and earning an All-American title in high jump.

At Atkinson Academy, engaging educational events are taking place, including a moon viewing night for first graders and a fourth-grade wax museum project that encouraged creativity and research skills. Upcoming events include a lip sync battle, organized by the Night Owls parent group, which promises to be a fun showcase of student talent.

Danville School celebrated Saint Patrick's Day with a festive popcorn treat, and third graders enjoyed a field trip to the State House, where they interacted with Governor Kelly Ayotte.

Sandown North is also making strides with their "1 School, 1 Book" initiative, which has received positive feedback from the community. They are actively raising funds for the American Heart Association, having already surpassed their goal with a week left to contribute.

All elementary schools recently held kindergarten registration nights, welcoming new families into the educational community, while the middle school hosted its first cooking competition, showcasing student creativity and culinary skills.
