Jacobs has already begun his role, having moved up from assistant principal at Bear Branch Junior High. His appointment comes after Dr. Vanghouse transitioned to the principal position at Magnolia Parkway Junior High.
The meeting continued with the introduction of Matt Best, who will take over as principal at Bear Branch Intermediate School. Best has a history with the district, having started his career as a teacher and coach at Magnolia Junior High before serving as a principal in other districts.
John Owens was also recognized as the new principal of Bear Branch Elementary School, moving from his role as assistant principal at Magnolia High School. His experience in both high school and elementary settings was highlighted as an asset for his new position.
Lastly, Katie Fields was introduced as the new principal at Ellisor Elementary, stepping into the role following the promotion of Miss Boyd to Executive Director of Elementary and Intermediate Student Services. Fields has served as the assistant principal at Ellisor Elementary and is expected to bring her experience from Cy Fair ISD to her new position.
The meeting concluded with congratulations extended to all five new principals, with the board expressing optimism about their leadership and contributions to the Magnolia community. The transitions mark a significant change in leadership within the district, aimed at enhancing educational experiences for students.
