Anthony Elementary showcases students' talents with music and art performances

The Gadsden Independent Schools District held a school board meeting on March 21, 2025, which began with a warm welcome from the host, who expressed gratitude to attendees and highlighted the talent of the students. The meeting featured a showcase of musical performances by fifth and sixth graders, directed by Mr. Martinez, and a seventh-grade band from Gadsden Middle School, directed by Mr. Via in the absence of Mr. Scanlon.

The host acknowledged the contributions of various staff members, including the front office staff, counselor Ms. Busamante, and assistant principal Ms. Valdez, as well as Ms. Sangster and Ms. Quinones for their efforts in fostering collaboration between schools. The meeting also included a display of student artwork, curated by art teacher Ms. Dreiser, with contributions from several local elementary schools.

Following the performances, Superintendent Dempsey addressed the board members, marking the transition to district updates and recognitions. The meeting emphasized community involvement and support for the arts in education, showcasing the district's commitment to celebrating student achievements.
