AACPS board engages community in phase 2 redistricting with public input tool

The Anne Arundel County Board of Education is actively engaging the community in the phase 2 redistricting process, emphasizing collaboration and public input. During the recent public session, board members reiterated that the redistricting is still in its early stages, with a private consultant, WXY, developing various scenarios for consideration.

These scenarios are not final recommendations but serve as a starting point for discussion. The superintendent will incorporate community feedback into these scenarios before making a formal recommendation to the board in July. Until then, the board will not be directly involved in the planning.

Community members are encouraged to participate by using the web tool available at www.aacpsredistricting.org, where they can view the scenarios and submit their comments. The deadline for feedback has been extended to May 15. Following this input phase, the board plans to select options for public briefing and hearings scheduled for September and February.
