Savannah City Council introduces three new police officers during March 2025 meeting

Hovey, a Toledo native, completed the Owens Police Academy in 2024, marking his first full-time role in municipal law enforcement. Smith, a Northview graduate, has a strong educational background and previously volunteered with the department.

The council also planned to hold an executive session later in the meeting, which was postponed to accommodate the absence of an expected attorney. This adjustment allowed the council to continue with the agenda without delay.
