County Board confirms Tricia Clemens as new county administrator effective April 21

The Richland County Board convened on March 18, 2025, to address several key agenda items, including public comments, personnel appointments, and committee updates. The meeting began with a public comment session where a resident expressed gratitude to the board members for their service and commitment to the community.

Following the public comments, the board received an update from Neighborhood Housing Services of Southwest Wisconsin, announcing the hiring of a new executive director, Frederick Heater. The organization is set to begin new home construction this spring, marking its first project of this kind in eight years.

The board then moved into a closed session to discuss the county administrator's recommendation from the executive and finance standing committee. Upon returning to open session, the board confirmed the appointment of Tricia Clemens as the new county administrator, effective April 21, 2025. This decision followed a rigorous selection process, and the board expressed appreciation for all candidates involved.

Subsequently, the board addressed several appointments to various committees. Five appointments were confirmed, including Supervisor Engel to the Aging Unit Advisory Committee and Joan Kepler to the Southwest Wisconsin Library Board. Additionally, Julie Fleming was appointed to the Tri County Airport Committee, and Supervisor Williamson and Dan Hilberry were nominated for the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board.

The meeting concluded with a recommendation to appoint Britney Paulus as the Pine Valley Community Village administrator, following the interim service of Angie Wall. The board unanimously approved this appointment.

Looking ahead, the next county board meeting is scheduled for April 9, 2025, where the board will address the appointment of a new supervisor to fill the vacancy left by Supervisor Brewer. Interested candidates must submit their information by March 28 at 4 PM.
