Mayor Hanwell welcomes Farmhouse 18 34 at Medina ribbon cutting ceremony

The Medina City Council held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 18, 2025, to officially welcome Farmhouse 1834, a boutique specializing in home decor, furniture, dining, and gifts, to the community. Mayor Dennis Hanwell expressed gratitude for the business's decision to open in Medina, highlighting its potential to enhance local quality of life and contribute to a diversified economic base.

During the ceremony, Ray Paletta, representing U.S. Congressman Max Miller, congratulated the owners on their commitment to the city and offered support from the congressional office. The event also included recognition from Medina County commissioners, who sent a certificate in celebration of the occasion, as well as letters of congratulations from Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and Ohio Senator Mark Romanchuk.

Farmhouse 1834, which previously operated in Olmstead Falls for over three years, is co-owned by Despina and another partner. They expressed excitement about their new location in Medina and appreciation for the warm welcome they received from the community. The owners look forward to contributing positively to the local economy and fostering connections within the city.
