Mason City Council approves $30M expansion plan for AtriCure on Innovation Way

The council approved a $110,000 contract for a local technology partner, Veil, aimed at enhancing data integration with the OpenGov system. This move is expected to streamline operations and improve efficiency for city staff.

In a major highlight, the council ratified an agreement related to AtriCure's expansion, which includes a substantial $30 million investment in their campus on Innovation Way. This expansion will add 120,000 square feet of laboratory, research, and advanced manufacturing space, retaining 470 jobs and creating an additional 300 positions. This project is poised to generate over $43 million in payroll over the next five years, positioning AtriCure among the top employers in Mason.
