Deputy Mayor announces Earth Day initiatives and streetlight LED conversion plans

The Village of Williamsville Board Meeting held on February 24, 2025, highlighted several key initiatives aimed at enhancing community engagement and improving local infrastructure.

One of the most significant discussions centered around the conversion of street lighting to LED technology. The board emphasized that this transition is not optional, as LED lights are the only available option moving forward. Instead, they will focus on educational programs that teach residents about proper planting techniques and the importance of maintaining bioswales. Trustee Celeste reported on the success of the recent winter festival, which saw high attendance, and mentioned ongoing discussions regarding traffic safety improvements. The board is actively reviewing suggestions for better traffic control to enhance safety for all residents.
