On November 11, 2024, Anthony Wayne High School hosted a heartfelt Veterans Day event, honoring veterans, active duty service members, and their families. Principal Kevin Fefferly welcomed students, staff, and special guests, emphasizing the importance of respectful participation during the ceremony.
The program featured performances by the school’s band and choir, who played a medley of "The Blue and the Gray" and sang the national anthem, setting a solemn tone for the occasion. Fefferly expressed gratitude to the musicians, as well as to the custodial and technology staff, and volunteers who helped organize the event, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the ceremony.
The event included a keynote speaker, who was introduced by Fefferly, and a salute to the armed forces by the high school band. The program concluded with the choir performing "God Bless America." This gathering served not only to honor those who have served but also to foster a sense of community and respect among students and attendees.
